Belgrade Mission 04

Daniel wanted to meet again, so we arranged meeting with him, but it never happened. He waited for us in another McDonald's on the other side of Belgrade .. my fault, ...
I was afraid that he will get angry, but he wrote again in the evening asking if we could meet again. Could not happen, because in the evening we will be already in another city...but still in Serbia.

We leave from Belgrade by car to a village called "Kovin". We are appointed for Baptist Bible study that night.
Young pastor invited us into a room size 3x2,5m with a wood stove.
Within a moment about 20people gathered here. All Serbians, except me and Luke and p.Dragan. 7people are sitting on one couch, the other on chairs, and on the floor. There is yet one more room, but it has no door and no windows...all the glass is smashed. Why it is not repaired?..I asked myself. Because they have no money to repair it! ...I replied to myself.

Everyone who came has brought something with him to host their guests. Nuts, home made sweet and salty cakes, lemonade and coke. Table was full as well as the room. We started to play a guitar and to sing praises ... all in Serbian language... it was so awesome to hear those to us well known praises in Serbian language. Then we, I and p.Dragan, shared from the Word of God on various topics and we also spoke to a local youth afterwards. It was like heaven on earth ... And nothing could take our joy that night, as we saw God coming through.

Local "Grandma" invited us for a dinner .. homemade potatoes, homemade roast pork, homemade salad, homemade bread, homemade cake and then a homemade cake again. This was like heaven on earth too...

That evening we got even one more invitation for a dinner. People here are really hospitable, they would give us everything even though there would be nothing left for themselves.

When we were leaving we got even gifts from those people. Then I asked the local pastor to get some Serbian Bibles for me which he did. At that time I did not know yet, that these Bibles will not stay long with me.

On our way home we stayed in Belgrade for several hours at McDonald's and while waiting, we gave away about half of the Bibles right there.

Freely you've received, freely give. We gave what we could during these days in Serbia and we had a great walk with God. We walked on water leaving the natural safe enviroment of the ship behind and got to walk on unknown waters, with the One that is well known to us - Christ.

Lukas wants to come back again he said...it's not a question for him anymore and  he is already decided. This Serbian mission has changed his life and I am so glad that he could meet living God there. I am so glad.

We thank everyone for their support of this mission trip, either financial or in prayer, or both. We are one Body of Christ, and without you we would not be able to do it.

Thank you so much and keep in prayers as we are planning next Croatia and Serbia trip again soon.
